Foreign affairs minister Julie Bishop launches Singapore landing pad for Aussie startups

Foreign affairs minister Julie Bishop has officially launched the federal government’s landing pad for Australian startups in Singapore this week.

Joined by Singapore’s minister for trade and industry S. Iswaran at one of Singapore’s largest startup spaces BASH (Building Amazing Startups Here), Bishop said the landing pad, which is currently home to four Australian ventures, will bring together startups, research groups and multinational corporations to “promote innovation”.

“The initiative assists Australian startups in cutting edge industries, including services, to build new export market opportunities,” Bishop says.

“Singapore’s attractiveness for Australian startups is underpinned by its dynamic venture capital and investment community, and its reputation as one of Asia’s leading research and development centres.
