I just got the scripts for the project and it looks like a whole bunch of fun things to make. I'll hold off anything that might be a spoiler. Here is a generic Mad science panel. Some of the switches work and it's just full of blinking lights. I pretty much went into my bins of stuff and pulled out anything I thought would work. We have tap lights, led xmas lights, Star trek replica bridge control buttons, switches…etc etc etc..
Random thoughts on some other props for How to Survive the Strange
BBQ device– The objective is to create a very scary and dangerous (both to the user and anyone too close to it) device that just makes you wonder how you would ever use the damn thing. I grabbed a bunch of cooking stuff from the dollar store and I'm taking it apart to see how it would best fit together. The idea of a electric knife style (or shotgun ) grip with it ending it an almost switchblade style collection of whacked out tools on the end seems like the idea of the moment right now. Going to do some more sketching and maybe a quick mock up.
The 1950's style robot- Looking around the web on robot costume building and it's most likely going to be a combo of foam and plastic. A trash can has just the right form for the head I'm looking for and it will save time. Lots more thinking on this is going to have to be done.
